Here is some work in progress - one of several new Herring Lassie paintings! Oil on canvas, 36 x 24 inches - At the end of a long day it is so good to get those boots off!
On the Easel - "Cloots", 48 x 36 inches, oil on canvas. This is the latest progress on one of my current Herring Lassie paintings. First job in the morning for the girls was to put their cloots on. These bits of cloth provided some protection for their fingers -
One bad cut could mean the end of their season and a long trip home!
I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the "Ages of Wonder" exhibition at the Royal Scottish Academy this week. The highlight for me was the gallery recreating a floor to ceiling Victorian Hang - so many wonderful paintings to view in one room! Therefore here are some of my "Works in Progress" hung in a similar fashion to give you an idea of what I am currently working on!
