Lady - Joceline-frottee

Last post for today, another painting in my “Gothic Edinburgh” series.  Working title is “Lady Joceline”, it’s oil on canvas, 20 x 16 inches, Work in Progress.

The location is Holyrood Abbey. I normally frame each painting when completed but when I saw this frame I couldn’t resist it!

The model is Joceline.

This painting will be part of my next exhibition at the Dundas Street Gallery, Edinburgh which will run from Saturday 21st March to Saturday 28th March 2015.

The Bells - Frottee

The start of another painting in my “Gothic Edinburgh” series.  Working title is “The Bells”, it’s oil on canvas, 30 x 20 inches, Work in Progress.

The location is St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh, an amazing piece of Gothic revival architecture designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott in 1874.

The model is Joceline.

This painting will be part of my next exhibition at the Dundas Street Gallery, Edinburgh which will run from Saturday 21st March to Saturday 28th March 2015.

Altar - Frottee

This is the start of another painting in my “Gothic Edinburgh” series.  Working title is “The Altar”, it’s oil on canvas, 40 x 30 inches, Work in Progress.

The location is Holyrood Abbey, one of the many buildings founded by King David I in 1128. It is difficult to imagine how many stone masons were working during this amazing period of Gothic construction throughout Scotland, England and beyond.

The model is Joceline.

This painting will be part of my next exhibition at the Dundas Street Gallery, Edinburgh which will run from Saturday 21st March to Saturday 28th March 2015.
